How much longer can an individual survive due to lack of sunshine?
Our hopes were high recently. Through the smog, dust and fumes of the city, we had a very short glimpse of the sun.
This, however, was not to last. Once again the skies were covered with perpetual darkness. My skin is now turning into a darker shade of green.
Worst yet, was the sight I came across...geese and ducks fleeing the Chicago area in search of sunshine.
With camera in hand, and through the darkness, I was able to record their exodus from the Chicago area.
What, I wonder, will become of us as we struggle through this absence of sunlight?

Oh what joy! Just as my skin was turning a dark shade of screen from lack of sun, the skies have opened up.
During the past few weeks we, in Chicago, have only had about seven hours of sunlight. Life can be beautiful.
The skin which covers our bodies must adjust to this miracle from above. Due to the weakened condition of our skin, we can only be in direct sunlight for a limited time only. Care must be taken as not to suffer third degree burns.
Perhaps now, I can wander for a short time through the dark alleys and byways in this accident of the city by the lake.

Seeing my skin starting to fade from lack of sunshine here in Chicago, I determined it was time to seek the rays of the sun. But where? From the limited education I have endured in the Chicago public school system, in regards to the sun, it rises in New York City and sets in Los Angeles, California. We, in Chicago, have been taught that Los Angeles is "west" of Chicago.
Logic therefor concludes, to find the sun...head "west".
Along with the necessities of life, such as toilet paper, I took along a camera to record for history what might lie ahead.
Not far out of Chicago, I encountered a most "horrible" sight..."BIGFOOT". This, I thought could not be possible. "BIGFOOT" evil as he may be, has enough sense to never set foot in the Chicago area.
Frightened as I was, with what little courage I had, I was able to record one and only one picture of "BIGFOOT".
Fear prevented me from going any further west. Thus I returned to Chicago,along with my fading skin.

December is a most depressing month in Chicago. Being so far north in this part of the world we have very limited sunshine. What few minutes of sun we have will be blocked out by the abundance of tall buildings.
As evidence of this, I have during my painful and cold walks, recorded with my camera some evidence of what we have endured during December, one of our coldest months on record.
A word of warning: these are pictures suggested not to be viewed by those with less than a strong heart. What will be viewed is NOT a pleasant sight.

Sometimes the pressure of city life in Chicago becomes more than an individual can withstand.
Since Halloween we have been subject to non-stop Christmas music. Crowds of shoppers everywhere. All marching to the same Christmas message...."BUY","BUY","BUY".
Time to escape the city. But where? Oh, there is such a place. Located south of Chicago. The climate is warmer. Time has only one speed....very slow.
Electricity is just a recent intrusion. No computers. No traffic signals (there is no traffic).
The closest stores are beyond the earth's curvature.
It was in such a place I was fortunate to come across in my travels recently. Unfortunately the location of this place of SOLITUDE cannot be disclosed.
However, attached are some pictures of what can be found here...NOTHING. Just one message, PEACE ON EARTH. I found it.
